CLEP Testing

Students may earn credit for College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests. CLEP credit can be used to meet Fullerton College AA General Education (GE). Students must have the College Board send CLEP results to the Admissions and Records Office for use on the AA GE pattern. Course credit and units granted at Fullerton College may differ from course credit and units granted by another college or transfer institution. Fullerton College students will not receive credit for both the CLEP exam and an AP in the same foreign language.  View the catalog for more information.

Before you take a CLEP exam, check directly with the college or university you plan to attend to make sure that it grants credit for CLEP and review the specifics of its policy. View the CSU Systemwide Credit for External Examinations here.

Fullerton College administers the French, German and Spanish CLEP exams for prerequisite challenges of specific courses. Please contact the Humanities Division for more information.

Fees

All test takers must register and pay their $93.00 exam fee through the CLEP My Account website and bring their test registration ticket when coming to test.

Policies

A valid identification is needed to test. Identification can be any of the following: valid state, federal picture ID, a driver’s license, passport, or other government-issued identification that includes  photograph and signature.

  • Be government-issued.
  • Be an original document—photocopied documents are not acceptable.
  • Be valid and current—expired documents (bearing expiration dates that have passed) are not acceptable, no matter how recently they may have expired.
  • Bear the test taker’s full name, in English language
