High school math courses must be completed with C or better
*If student completed HS Calculus with a grade of C or higher in both semester, place into next calculus course in sequence. If they did not pass both semesters of HS calculus place into MATH 151 F or 130 F or 131 F as appropriate. If student is planning to transfer to university they should be made aware of the potential complications of skipping first term calculus without a sufficient scores on AP Calc exam.
**If high school Trig class is mixed with precalc then student can be placed into MATH 151 F per matrix above. If the course is a stand-alone Trig course then student should be placed in MATH 141 F/143 F per matrix
Students interested in the University of Califonira (UC) may need to take college Calculus 1 and/or Calculus 2 instead of placing higher as per major requirements of the specific UC. For complete descriptions of these classes view the online college catalog.
